Each week we have I Can... statements.  These are objectives for the week.

Language Arts

Poetry: Black

Word Work:  on, black

Phonics:  

Matching picture sounds to beginning sounds. (pumpkin cards)

Writing Block:   

I can make a list that follows one main idea. 

We made different list this week and then went back and made list in our journals.  We listed favorite types of candy, halloween costumes and different types of pumpkin faces.

Reading Block :

I can make a prediction and retell a story.

I can read a book for enjoyment.

We read, There was an old lady who wasn't afraid of anything.

We practiced re-telling the story using the story pieces.

We also listened to the song online and acted it out.

Math 

Vocabulary Words:  pattern, create

I can identify a pattern, extend a pattern, and create a pattern.

I can tell what will happen next based on problems.

We found patterns in the environment.

We read Head to Toe by Eric Carle.  As a whole group, we created a pattern using our hands and feet.  Clap, snap, stomp...

Science

I can put the parts of the pumpkin life cycle in order.

We continued our investigations with pumpkins.
