Reindeer Rock!

Our week back from Thanksgiving break was very successful!  We jumped right in!

Literacy

• Handwriting: Rr (we have completed all of our handwriting!)
• Word wall words: said, five, six
• Poem of the week: I'm a Little Reindeer
• Discussed the difference between a letter and a word
• Discussed that there must be spaces in between words so the reader can see each word

• we wrote the sounds we herd next to all of the pictures to try and spell the words
• wrote in our journal a few times and are starting to make complete sentences
• finger painted a Christmas tree and we will decorate them on Monday when we start our study of how different cultures celebrate the holidays
• completed centers and jobs

Math

We did a UPS Check problem everyday and I had the students make up the problems.

We also wrote a number on a sticky note, then separated into boy and girl groups and threw the sticky note to the other side.  Then they pick up a different stick note and pasted them on the correct circle map if the number was even or odd.

Science

• talked about the different parts of a reindeer
• did the reindeer pokey
• made a reindeer out of construction paper by tracing our hands
• played reindeer BINGO

This week we went to Library, did istation and watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer on Friday!
