We used spider picture cards and we matched the ending sound to the picture.
Writing Block:
I can write about small moments.
As a class we sung the song, The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Then we discuss how when we write we can write about one small moment and wrote about the beginning on day, the middle another and the ending of The Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Reading Block :
I can make a prediction and retell a story.
We read the poem "Little Miss Muffet" up until the spider sat down beside her and we had to infer what would happen next. We also acted the poem out and rewrote the poem to be about us and what we ate when the spider scared us.
Math
I can identify a pattern, extend a pattern, and create a pattern.
I can tell what will happen next based on problems.
We made patterns all week! We made patterns using us, unifix cubes and M&M's.
Science
I can name the parts of a spider.
spider: arachnid
abdomen: body part of a spider
legs: part of a spiders body that allows a spider to move
spinnerets: part of the body the a spider uses to spin a web
pedipalps: part of the body of the spider that is used to feel and sense the world around them
cephalothorax: head part of a spider
spiderlings- young spiders
We made our own spider and labeled the parts.
This week we celebrated Micaiah's birthday. Happy Birthday!
Krishna is The Hippest in the House for this months character trait of respect. Way to go!
