Language
Poetry: I'm a little scarecrow
Word Wall Words: to, zero
Handwriting: y,j
Phonics:
We continued working on ending sounds.
Writing Block:
I can write about small moments and add details to my writing.
I drew a picture of a small moment that I have had and then the kids shared the pen and practice sounding out words when writing.
Then they went back to their seat and found a story of their own to add to or write about a small moment over Thanksgiving.
Reading Block :
I can retell using the beginning, middle and end of a story.
Each day we read a story and they had to decide what happened in the beginning, middle and end. Each student had a sentence strip with a B, M, E written on it. I would say a part of the story we read that day and they had to point to which part of the story the event happened.
Math
I can solve and create addition and subtraction problems.
This week we played some games and practiced coming up with our own problems. We were preparing for our next test.
Science
I can observe and record properties of objects.
Vocabulary:
property: words that describe an object
texture: how something feels
size: how big or small something is
We explored different objects with different properties. Then we chose our own object to observe. We recorded them on our recording sheet. We also made an anchor chart of all the different properties that we observed.
