We were singing the Red song as we wrote our sight words!
We started Writers Workshop this week and went through the steps that writers take too complete their writing piece. I would model each day on my writing piece and then they would go to their seat and work on their own by choosing their own topic.
On Tuesday we drew our picture.
On Wednesday we added more detail to our picture and labeled parts of our picture.
On Thursday we labeled a couple more things in our picture and wrote a sentence using 3 of our sight words. We talked about how writers write by either drawing a picture, writing letters or writing words that can make up a sentence.
On Friday we added another sentence to my piece. By using the same writing piece all week it shows the students that writers take their time to make their piece exactly how they want it and that some writes might only take two days to finish a piece or three days. When they finish they know to start a new piece.
Below is our anchor chart of our expectations during Writers Workshop when we are writing.
For our number talk on Friday we made an anchor chart for the #1. Inside we wrote all the ways we could represent the number 1. ex: tally marks, number sentences, pictures, words, letters, fingers

Reminders:
- Send your child's Sight Word Baggie to school on Monday to add new words.
- Make sure to sigh up for Parent/Teacher Conferences through the link that I emailed out. Times are filling up fast.
