I Can...
Reading: use my schema to help read; identify and a fiction/non-fiction book.
Writing: stretch out words to hear sounds; add details to my story.
Math: separate and subtract numbers.
Science: understand the life cycle of a plant.
We learned all about schema this week and how schema comes from our background knowledge of things we have experienced.
Then I put some pictures on the board of different ingredients to see if they could use their schema to determine what these items could make.
We also learned about fiction and non-fiction books. We talked about what features they have and what the purpose might be for those features.
On Friday we sorted different books.
We put the pumpkin life cycle together as a class.
To help us understand subtraction better I introduced them to Linus the Minus.
How many ways can you represent the number 4?
Makayla A. is our first Cat's Meow! Here is a circle map of all her favorite things.
Just having a little fun singing to Pete and His Groovy Buttons as we act the story out.
We just love Five Little Monkeys!
