We are still establishing our expectations and routines during our workshop time. We discussed how to shop for books in our classroom library, the difference between REAL reading vs. FAKE reading, Reader's Workshop expectations and the difference between fiction and non-fiction books.
They each had a book that they then had to sort as either fiction or non-fiction.
We will be starting partner/buddy reading this coming week! They are so excited!
We discussed the tools that good writer's use during writer's workshop.
Sharing a writing pieces is one of their favorite parts of writer's workshop. We talked about what it should look like and sound like when the author is sitting in the authors chair.
In science we continued to explore different science tools.
We went to the library for the first time this year! We were so excited! We even go to check out books! Our weekly day to go will be every Friday.
We love our counselor Mrs. O'Hearn! She helped us set individual goals for the year!
