We have been working with friendly numbers and 3 addends in math.  They got to play Tic-Tac-Ten with their math partners.  They had to find three addends to equal ten and whoever got 3 in a row was the winner!

We had a little fun on Friday and made some candy corn during math time.

 We rolled a number, drew it with base ten blocks and then wrote the number in extended form.

We focused on the four seasons this week in science.  We talked about how the days change from longer to shorter, animals hibernate at certain times of the year and we also learned that the temperature changes.

We worked together as table groups to answer questions that Ms. K asked us.  We had to decide what season her statements matched.

We also got to see how animals change the way they look in different seasons.

We learned about different kinds of connections in reading.  Each day we focused on making a new type of connection.

In grammar we learned what a preposition was and a prepositional phrase.  We even got to make up our own sentence using a prepositional phrase!

Here is our text-to-text connection.  We read each book and wrote on a strip of paper how they were the same.  Then we linked them together.

So many came to the Fall Book Fair and Lunch with a Loved One.
