Pippa the Pumpkin Fairy left us a special treat for the month of October. She left two of her silly pumpkins to watch over us. Their names are Nancy and Ned. Each day they report back to Pippa and tell her which students worked really hard. Then those students get to sit with Nancy and Ned the next day. We have really enjoyed them so far!
This week we have been learning about non-fiction text features. After exploring different non-fiction books we made a list of all the things we saw in those books.
Then we compared the text features of non-fictions books to the features of a fiction book.
We read two books about the same topic. One fiction and the other non-fiction. After reading each book we made a t-chart of the text features each book had below.
We have really enjoyed science this week! We have been learning about objects in the sky such as the sun, moon, stars and the earth. We talked about the sizes of them and how they work.
We also learned two different phases of the moon. The new moon and the full moon. On Friday we got to experiment with an oreo to see a new moon and a full moon. They LOVED this!
We've been learning different ways to bring our stories to life. They have been doing such a great job! We have our stories hanging outside our classroom for all to see!
Congratulations to Suhita for having the most Dojo points for the month of September! Keep up the good work everyone!
