We've been really focusing on making sure we use capital letters correctly in our writing.  We made this anchor chart to help us remember.

In reading we learned that books have main ideas.  We talked about what that is and we practiced picking it out of non-fiction texts.

We also learned that not only can we make connections while reading but we can also make them during math.  We talked about the different types of connection we could make.

In science we learned about heating and cooling.  We talked about the different states of matter and got to do a couple experiments.  The first one was to see how quickly we could get an ice cube to go from a solid to a liquid.  They had to think of a way to make it melt.  Some were using their breath some were using their warm hands and others were using the friction on the floor by rubbing it on the carpet.

Our second experiment was making pancakes!  We took a liquid and turned it into a solid.  Then we got to eat them!

We reached our reading stamina goal of reading independently for 25 minutes!  We got our prize to read with flashlights one day.  They LOVED this!
