Literacy
- word wall words: green, on, see
- handwriting letters Bb and Hh
- poems of the week were The Green Song and Did You Ever?
- we worked with rhyming words to the Did You Ever? poem
- read Little Blue and Little Yellow and retold the story in a story map and by acting it out with play-doh
- added the green poem to our poetry book
- complete our literacy jobs and did literacy centers
- made people that look like us with our writing as the body
- the writing was sentences of our 5 senses (ex: I can see a truck.)
- water-colored our green frog to add to our Brown Bear, Brown Bear Book
We also had 3 of our friends bring books from home to read to us! Thanks Emma, Audrey and Logan!
Math
- learned new shapes oval and rhombus
- started UPScheck
- this is how we solve our word problems (there are 4 steps to getting our answer)
- we will be doing this all year long
- ask you child what the letters stand for!
- completed our math jobs and our math centers
- learned what a 5's frames is and worked out problems on it with unifix cubes
Science
- completed a matching activity of what we could hear, see, taste, smell and touch
- finished our experiments form the previous week (taste and touch)
- watched a video on our 5 senses
This week we also had Mrs. O'Hearn come visit, we watched the presidential address, had a bus evacuation drill, we went to Library and we had Robertson Roundup!!! Such a busy week but boy was it FUN!!
