This week we covered the following:
Literacy
- started our study on Eric Carle the author
- currently we are making our own Brown Bear, Brown Bear book
- read Draw Me a Star and we decoupage stars out of tissue paper to look like Eric Carle's
- read The Mixed-up Chameleon and made a book page of what animal you would want to be....
- read House for a Hermit crab and we made a book page of what you like to do during your birthday month..
- handwriting of the letter "c" and "o"
- our word wall words for the week were red, I, a, like
- our poem for the week was the red song (ask your child to sing it to you)
- talked about a writers toolbox and what good writers would need to put in that toolbox
Math
- learned how to make the numbers 6-9
- ask you child what their favorite saying is to make a number
- made a graph of what color eyes were in our class and brown ended up having the most
- explored math manipulative
Science
- talked all week about weather
- went on a weather walk outside and reported back, drew a picture of what we observed to go in our classroom journal
- talked about the different kinds of weather and what clothes are appropriate
- completed our Weather Window Book
- acted out the weather and leaned new weather vocabulary
REMINDER: PARENTS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE INITIALING YOU CHILDS RED FOLDER EVERYDAY
