We Have 5 Senses!

This week was full of great experiments and new topics!

Literacy

• handwriting of Qq and Gg
• talked about things that start with Qq
• made a tree map of our 5 senses 
• wrote in our writing journals (we are working on detailed pictures and making sentences of words we know)
• continued to work on rhyming words
• started our literacy jobs and centers this week!

Math

• learned what a circle, triangle, rectangle, square and rhombus were and how many sides and corners they each have
• talked about things in our world that are those shapes
• made shapes with our geo-boards
• played "Guess My Shape" as a group
• put new vocabulary in their math journals
• learned that these shapes are called two-dimensional

Science

• talked more about our 5 senses and did experiments to test each
• we drew a picture with our eyes open and then with our eyes closed to see how important it is to have sight
• we smelled 4 different containers and tried to guess what was inside
• we also listened to 4 different canisters to guess what was making the sound
• we will do taste and touch next week
•  recorded our answers on our recording sheet and they will go in our Science journals

           We also went to library this week and sang a song with Mrs. Biamont!  She also helped us check out our books!  We played on istation again to help us get better with our letters and sounds.  We were supposed to have Free Friday but I got sick and had to go home.  Im sure they got to do it in the other class they were in for the day.  Enjoy your weekend!

• Sign your child's folder daily.  I still have some folders that are not being signed.
• Don't forget to make your All About Me poster!  It's due October 4th!
