Reading: retell important parts of a story; build stamina as I read.

In writing this week we focused on our characters.  We talked about all the different things that could be a character in a story.  We put some of them on our anchor chart.

We also created a tree map of all the different body parts we could use to make a person character.  Then we created a few just to see how characters don't always look the same.

During reading we talked about building our stamina.  Our goal is to read for 40 minutes by the end of the year.  We talked about starting out small and then slowly increasing our time.

These are our rewards to help make building our stamina more fun!  We can already read in one spot for 5 minutes!

Namarie celebrated her birthday this week.  Happy birthday sweet girl!
