I Can...

Reading: read three different ways; identify parts of a book; sit, listen, and read in my designated spot.
Writing: write by using pictures and words.
Math: make a set; write numbers; trust numbers.
Science: learn about my 5 senses.

We talked about the three ways to read a book.  We can read the pictures, read the words or retell the story in our own words.

We labeled the parts of a book and hunted for these thing while we were reading books from our book boxes.

We focused on the word family -in.  The words outside the pin are words the students said but didn't belong on the pin.

These are some of our favorite things.  We can look at this if we get stuck and don't know what to write about.

We can also use this as a resource.

We set new expectations for our pictures.  We need to color in the lines, use colors that make sense and make sure we didn't leave any white space.

This is what it looks like and sounds like during our Writers Workshop time.

These are some of the problems we had for problem solving this week.  They did such a great job solving the problems and showing their work!

We showed all the ways we could represent the number 1.

This is a story mat. We use these a lot to solve problems or to make sets.  For example: Show me a set of 4 crabs.

We love singing the Orange poem!

Robertson is having a College/Career Week! All FISD schools will be celebrating during this week. The purpose is to teach our students that preparing for a higher education begins now by setting goals and forming good academic habits. Ms. O’Hearn will be discussing College and Careers in Guidance this month. Our focus will be setting goals and working to achieve them.
There will be fun activities throughout the week that emphasize doing your best in school, the importance of graduating from high school, and taking that next step to college. We encourage all to participate!
  • MONDAY: Listen to College Spirit Songs as we start our day.
  • TUESDAY: Go future Lone Star Rangers! (wear navy or silver to support your future high school)
  • WEDNESDAY: Team up for college! Wear your favorite College Tee-Shirt or colors.
  • THURSDAY: Look to your bright future! (wear sunglasses)
  • FRIDAY: Wear your school spirit shirts to show how bright your future is!!
Reminders:
Tuesday: Picture Day, Curriculum Night @ 6-8pm
