I can...
Reading: choose a just right book.
Writing: explore different settings in my writing.
Reading: choose a just right book.
Writing: explore different settings in my writing.
I can add detail to my picture by drawing a setting.
Math: compare a set of objects.
compare numbers using one more and one less.
Science: tell the difference between living and non living.
Here are the characteristics we came up with as a class about living and nonliving things.
What is a "just right" book?
This is our book shopping schedule. On there day to shop they come in the classroom in the morning and go straight to get their book boxes. They then go through them and decide which books they are no longer interested in and return them to our classroom library. Then the get to select new books to replace the old ones. They shop once a week so its very important that they are picking "just right" books.
In writing this week we have been focusing on the setting in our stories. We talked about how settings can be inside or outside, different times of the day, different places and different seasons. Here are the anchor charts we made to help us with an idea if we get stuck.
How many ways can you represent the number 2?
On Thursday we kicked off our Olweus (anti-bullying) program at school!
They introduced the Buddy Stop. This sign is now hanging on the fence on the playground and we are slowly starting to understand that this is where friends go to find a buddy.
