- sequenced the life cycle of the pumpkin
- and a few of the same ones with our new word wall words
Math
- This week we really focused on addition
- we did 3 different activities to really enforce using manipulatives to get the correct answer
- we were trying to see how many ways we could equal the number 5
- so we had 5 unifix cubes and broke them apart as many times as we could to see how many problems we could come up with
- we did the same activity with the number 12
- we also did word problems and used pumpkin manipulatives to figure out the answer
Science
- We did a pumpkin experiment!
- we figured out how tall our pumpkin was
- we figured out how wide our pumpkin was
- we counted how many ribs it had
- and we saw that our pumpkin floated
- we also drew our own picture of a pumpkin and labeled all the parts
Don't forget that this coming week we will be starting guided reading! Also, report cards will be coming home on Thursday so be on the lookout! Have a fabulous week!
