Spiders, ewwww......

Literacy
We had a pumpkin rotation on Monday where the kids had a chance to visit each kindergarten room and do something different with pumpkins. In Mrs. Hodges room the kids measured, sorted and weighed pumpkins. In Ms. Weinke's room they used their five senses to describe the pumpkin insides and all. In Ms. Ragan's room they did an art project that went along with our poem from last week:

5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said "Oh my, it's getting late"
The second one said, "There are witches in the air"
The third one said,"But we don't care"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run"
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun"
Oooo went the wind and out went the lights
And 5 little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

In our class we hollowed out a pumpkin and counted the seeds up to 100. In Mrs. Patz's class they made a book of the pumpkin life cycle and in Mrs. Bell's class they made pumpkin bread!
